Pasta King Cafe di Roma for an authentic Italian cuisine

U|TOWN Magazine staff luncheon meeting today at Pasta King! What an extended Dumaguete fiesta with an Italian vibe! La dolce vita!

First off, the gourmet antipasti or hors d'oeuvre. Or in simple terms, appetizer or starter :)

Antipasti. Anti means before. So, it means before the pasta or meal. #just saying :)

Then, we had pasta and risotti for the main course. There was a back rib dish, too! Sarappissimo!

Che Adreino de Santis who is at the helm of this Italian Cafe in Dumaguete is the godson of the man who invented pasta alfredo!

Here's a snippet:
Andreino has consistently achieved highest praise for its culinary creations and customer satisfaction. He is known as Chef to the Stars do to visits of many Hollywood celebrities to his restaurant.
Andreino, godson of Alfredo Di Lelio (the Alfredo who invented Fettucine Alfredo, has an amazing lifetime of experience cooking for stars (Carson, Sinatra etc.), presidents (Reagan, Eisenhower, Nixon), and venues around the world. Now semi-retired in Dumaguete, Philippines, this famous chef of Italian cuisine has returned to his passion: cooking amazing food for groups of people, and seeing their faces light up when they taste the food. A true labor of love!

We had a dessert platter to end the gastronomic feast!

I am cheesecake person. I'd have to say that cheesecake at Pasta King is to-die for! The secret is in the crust.

The leader of the local mafia smoking some stick bread!

Light moment before the feast.

But the deal breaker for me is the home-made la bruschetta or garlic bread! Crunchy on the outside and perfectly moist on the inside with the right mix of olive oil and butter.

With reference of your article we have the pleasure to tell you the history of our grandfather Alfredo Di Lelio, creator of “fettuccine all’Alfredo” (recipe in the world known).
Alfredo di Lelio opened the restaurant "Alfredo" in 1914 in a street in the center of Rome, after leaving his first restaurant run by his mother Angelina in Piazza Rosa (Piazza disappeared in 1910 following the construction of the Galleria Colonna / Sordi). In this local spread the fame, first to Rome and then in the world, of "fettuccine all'Alfredo".
In 1943, during the war, Di Lelio sold the restaurant to others outside his family.
In 1950 Alfredo Di Lelio decided to reopen with his son Armando his restaurant “Il Vero Alfredo” in Rome, Piazza Augusto Imperatore n.30, which is now managed by his nephews Alfredo (same name of grandfather) and Ines (the same name of his grandmother, wife of Alfredo Di Lelio, who were dedicated to the noodles).
See also the site of “Il Vero Alfredo”
We must clarify that other restaurants "Alfredo" in Rome do not belong to the family tradition of "Il Vero Alfredo" in Rome.
We inform that the restaurant “Il Vero Alfredo” is in the registry of “Historic Shops of Excellence” of the City of Rome Capitale.

Best regards Alfredo e Ines Di Lelio
