Lotte Hotel in Cebu

Shangri-la is as alien as Mövenpick (Mactan Island, Cebu) to many of my Korean students. What they are familiar with is Lotte Hotel (South Korea's largest chain of five-star hotels or Ritz Carlton Korea) whenever I mention in class international luxury hotels and suites.

Chain of luxury hotel brands have started to open properties in the country. Raffles Hotel and Hyatt (to open in Makati), will add to the growing list of five star hotels in the Philippines that include The Peninsula, Amanpulo, Mandarin Oriental, Sofitel, Pan Pacific, Intercontinental and Discovery Shores in Boracay.

Luxury or five-star hotels in Cebu are limited only to the two hotels + resorts I mentioned earlier. Now, there's a hotel brand my students can associate five-star with.

Lotte Hotel Cebu, the first Lotte Hotel in the Philippines, is scheduled to open in 2014 with 350 rooms to meet the increasing demands from domestic and international travelers in Cebu. It will occupy the 6th up to the 23rd floor of J Centre Mall in Mandaue City. Lotte Hotel Cebu is a partnership between Lotte and Profood Corporation (parent company of J Centre Mall). Profood holds a 50 per cent stake in Imperial Palace Resort in Mactan, another Korean hotel chain operating in Cebu.

Lotte Hotel will open more properties in Vietnam and China in addition to its existing Lotte Hotel in Moscow in Russia and Japan.

  1. It's always interesting to read through articles from other writers and use a little something from other websites.

  2. Wow. Cebu is really beautiful as well as the Lotte hotel. Try these Budget Hotels in Makati.
